Wishing You the Gift of Joy this Holiday Season

I know it's been a long time between cupcakes and Christmas. Mom continues to decline, and I'm hanging on. Please know that I'm thinking of you, that I miss visiting everyone's blogs as often as I used to, and that I'm wishing you and your families joyous and heart-filled holidays.
With love,
Liz

You are beautiful to give your mother the gift of yourself and your time through her illness. I cannot say I understand how difficult these days must be, but I do know that caring for your mother will be something that you will never regret. God has not only given you the gift of expressing yourself through your art, but also he has given you a Servant's heart. With that being said, as you take care of your Mom, please take care of yourself.

This little Christmas painting is delightful. I love that you have masterfully painted a beautiful contrast in colors and textures, the dark background and the bright, shiny golden package in the foreground. You're the best! Take care, Liz.

My heart leapt with joy when I saw this beautiful work of art. I don't think I've ever seen a more joyous, expressive Christmas greeting. The blues try to creep in and take over, but the rich Christmassy reds and yellows keep them in the background where they belong. Merry Christmas, -Don

Hi Liz,
I have not blogged for a while, but, I thought of you today when I was thinking of what I want to paint next. That is what do I want to paint that I will be excited about. And then I remembered the photo of your mom as a bride and the lace on the gown. And then I couldn't wait to get home to see if you had posted anything since the cupcakes. I have told you about my Great Grandmother and my Grandmother and now we are beginning to experience my father-in-law with his age. I just tell you this to let you know that you are not alone.
Thank you for the photos. I will make some time to do a painting from them.

Your paintings are beautiful. Thank you for visiting my blog and in answer to your question: I usually use linen thread. I wax it by running over a piece of bees wax. You can find waxed linen in some art supply stores. I found a spool of artificial sinew at a thrift store and am using it too. I've also used waxed cotton embroidery thread. volcanoarts.com has a lot of supplies. Best to you and your mother.
