Fall is my favorite season. I love the deepening, more intense colors, the cool snap to the air, the quickened pace. Free from summer's humid weight, life feels sharper, clearer, more textured. Light is lower, shadows longer, richer, and more mysterious. I imagine the trees are relieved to drop the burden of holding up all of those leaves, and sing when they decorate the landscape.
wishing you a bountiful new season...

wonderful painting .
all the best .

Thank you, Caio, and congrats on your new book!
Nice to see something from you again Liz, hope you are well. Autumn is so exciting for an artist, those deep oranges and reds are so very welcome. Youve really captured the mood here, fantastic and what great texture. When I wake up to a bit of frost it makes me feel alive, the air seems more clean and fresh-your description is a perfect match to your painting bravo!
Great Expressive painting!
The warm/cool counterbalance: nice!
Awe..... this is so beautiful, Liz!! Wow!!
Which is more beautiful, your painting or your written word? Such talent you have!!! I just posted that we are welcoming cooler fall temps, and look what you wrote about the fall season...I write in black and white, and you write in technicolor!
This is a spectacular little painting, Liz. I have been enjoying all you flying moleskin contributions, and was especially pleased to see this one for Sheila -- haven't heard from her for ages.
Wonderful, Liz!! Your colors are gorgeous.
Ok, I'm missing Sheila's posts now.
really good to hear from you again Liz. Great job
Have missed you Liz (and Sheila as well!). Beautiful colours in this!
LOVELY painting and words, Liz. It sounds like a wonderful time to gaze out from your beautiful porch.
hugs,

This is beautiful, Liz. I love the textures and layering of the colors - so warm contrasted by the teal sky. Awesome!
Every element in this painting is perfection, Liz!
I love this painting!
Simplicity and wonderful colors!
Lovely painting Liz. Love the colors and enjoyed the words in your post.
Very expressive.
The colors are beautiful and I love the sparseness. There's also something wondrous about looking up a hill and pondering what lies beyond.
Thanks so much, everyone. I really appreciate your visit and kind comments!
Hmmm...I thought I'd commented on this piece Liz - I love the fall colors, the emotions it evokes, the feeling of autumn. I can almost smell the crisp air!
I'm late on getting to this one, but I love the rich golds and reds against that sky blue. That tree glows just like it should - you've captured a magical moment there.
Thank you, Deb!
Kerri- goodness, not late at all. I appreciate your stopping in and your kind comments.
Liz, your words are as beautiful as your painting. Sheila should love this one!
Love the composition with the lone tree and diagonal horizon, the contrast of the fiery leaves and cool sky. Very arresting painting Liz :-)
Any chance you could send me one of those singing trees ;-)
Hugs
Paul

Love the texture. How did I miss this one?
Hi Liz!
I too, love autumn, although in the desert it isn't much of a season. (no leaves.) It feels like winter has finally arrived today. Just wanted to stop over and say "hello." Hello.
Thank you so much everyone! I appreciate your kind comments!
I really love the texture this one. The colors are vibrant and seem to glow. Beautiful work.
Thank you, Shelley. I appreciate your comment and visit!
